Is among the finest hotels that we have ever stayed at. Magnificently maintained and upkept in an 18th century motiff with beautiful furnishings, artwork and public areas. The staff is extraordinary; highly skilled, caring and truly warm. Located across from the Palais du Papes, built in the 14th century. Inside the city walls, you are a short 5 minute walk to the town center for shopping and tons of outdoor cafes. Also a 15 minute taxi to the beautiful town of chataneauf-du-pap and its wineries and tastings. Not stuffy at all. Worth the splurge.
WOW WOW WOW!! It has to be location. Across a cobbled path to the Palais of de Popes. So the money was worth it for the location. Great to stay in the center of the Old Avignon. Lots of space in the rooms. Beautiful toiletry products. A bath!!!! Very old building with lots of history. I would have loved to do the cooking course. The degustation would be good too but a little expensive for us.
Nice room, great loction.
Inconvenience parking. Hard to find.
The decor; excellent breakfast; friendly staff, spacious room; very central
Could have been more helpful when we were stuck at the railway station with no taxis
It was a beautiful old building with character and style, comfortable, great service and perfect location.
The cost, we were in Avignon for a week and this hotel was too expensive to stay for this length of time.
Very good position right in the centre of Avignon. Lovely comfortable room and well decorated hotel.
It was very very expensive for what we had! Staff should have told us to pre book tickets for the Palais des Papes as there was along queue by mid morning.
A step back in history - beautifully presented hotel
kept waiting until 5 o'clock to gain access to room although our car was double parked at entrance for a 12 noon departure!
La Mirande is a little gem in a fabulous location in medieval Avignon. We stayed 3 days and the all the staff were friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast outside in walled garden was a great way to start the day.
We were very disappointed with the 'table d'hote'. The idea is great --being in a kitchen near the wine cellar was interesting, but the food was sub-standard for the price paid. Everyone wants to go -- I say don't bother.
What I loved about Le Mirande: Excellent service, friendly staff, luxurious and comfortable room and bathroom, the cleanliness in the room and bathroom was superb, the hotel was situated very central, the interior decorating was tastefully done. This hotel was to die for!!
An exquisite hotel with superb service and attention to detail. I particularly enjoyed having a small balcony with room service. It has a true feel of the elegance of Provence in an understated way. The evening meal was a pleasure.
Every aspect of our stay was excellent, the service, room, ambiance and, above all, the food
The location is unbeatable, somehow managing to be both in the center of everything and a quiet refuge to come home to. We stayed for six nights and staff could not have been more helpful and genuinely interested in making our stay as comfortable and pleasurable as possible. Both guest and common rooms are beautifully decorated in Provence style and the garden a delight. The experience most definitely justified the cost.
This a wonderful hotel in every aspect - location, history, design, service, room comfort. I would not hesitate to stay there again, indeed I would go out of my way to return to La Mirande.
Great comfort, helpfulness and convenience for the city.
Outstanding hotel. Wonderful view from bedroom onto Le Palais des Papes. Charming, helpful staff. Luxury. Comfort. I very much enjoyed it. Expensive but worth it for a special treat.
The only downside was the absence of a full length mirror in our suite.
